SHREYANK TRIPATHI, MD, FASN

Dr. Shreyank Tripathi has been a dedicated nephrology physician with Richmond Nephrology Associates since 2007. He chose nephrology as his specialty because it integrates mathematics with various branches of science, including biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology.

Dr. Tripathi specializes in: home dialysis treatment, kidney transplant care for donors and recipients, chronic kidney disease management, kidney stone prevention and treatment, difficult-to-control high blood pressure, end-stage renal disease and complex electrolyte imbalance management. While Dr. Tripathi is passionate about treating kidney diseases, his true dedication lies in caring for the individuals affected by these conditions. He prioritizes building long-term relationships with his patients and their families, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care.

Originally from India, Dr. Tripathi has also lived in Charlottesville and Chicago. He appreciates the welcoming community, excellent schools, and beautiful natural landscapes of the Richmond area.

Dr. Tripathi is married to Dr. Sarika Tripathi, an infectious disease physician, and together they have two sons. Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys running, hiking, tennis, and kayaking. He is deeply committed to giving back to the community and serves on various boards, including Access Now—a Richmond Academy of Medicine subsidiary providing care for uninsured patients.

Dr. Tripathi is an affiliate faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University and mentors medical students, nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students. Additionally, he serves as the Medical Director of Davita Hioaks, home to one of the largest home dialysis programs in Central Virginia.
