MIRZA BAIG, MD

Dr. Mirza Baig was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. He earned his medical degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in 2003. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Buffalo in 2008. Dr. Baig’s commitment to providing the best care to his patients was reflected when he worked in an underserved area for several years, catering to the needs of the local community. He then completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. Before joining Richmond Nephrology in 2021, Dr. Baig worked as a Nephrologist in private practice in Dallas, TX, for three years. He specializes in the treatment of Chronic Kidney Diseases, Glomerulonephritis and Hypertension.

Dr. Baig is an active member in professional societies such as the American Medical Association, American Society of Hypertension and American Society of Nephrology.

He is married with three children. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. Dr. Baig is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu.

Dr. Baig sees patients at our Mechanicsville office and has privileges at the major hospitals in the Richmond Metroplex area.

He is the Medical Director at both the DaVita Laburnum and U.S. Renal Care Ashland dialysis units.
