Dr. Johnson L. Gomez

Johnson L. Gomez, MD, was born in the Philippines and raised in Cebu City. He graduated from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in 2009 and completed his residency at the RWJ Barnabas Health- Monmouth Medical Center in 2015. He then completed his fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in 2022.

He is ABIM board certified in nephrology and was the Chief Fellow of nephrology during his fellowship. Within the field, he is particularly interested in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, end-stage kidney disease and dialysis, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, bone mineral disorder and onconephrology.

Dr. Gomez chose to work in nephrology because it is a dynamic and ever-evolving field that allows him to consistently learn new treatment techniques and skills. His favorite part about his job is bonding with his patients and working with them to effectively manage their health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Gomez enjoys spending leisure time with his family, exercising and playing the acoustic guitar. His favorite part of the burgeoning Richmond area is the variety of entertainment and cuisine and the warm and welcoming people.

Dr. Gomez acts as the Medical Director at Fresenius Kidney Care West End Dialysis Center and Home Therapies and sees patients at the West Broad location. He believes in working together with his patients to achieve the care they deserve.
