Dr. Christopher G. Acker

Dr. Christopher Acker joined Richmond Nephrology Associates in January 1997. He completed his Nephrology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, having returned to his alma mater after training in Internal Medicine and completing his military service with the US Army in Germany. He garnered several military awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal. He attended college at Rochester Institute of Technology and published multiple articles in medicinal organic chemistry and nephrology.

Dr. Acker currently serves as Medical Director for the DaVita Chester Dialysis Unit and is a Board Member for the Fresenius Dialysis Unit in Goochland and and the US renal Care unit in Ashland.

Dr. Acker has been awarded several distinctions in medicine during his career, including being named a “Top Doc” in Nephrology in Richmond Magazine’s April 2011 edition.

Together with Nurse Practitioners Kendall Weinert, Jessica Bartlam and Leigh Hanley, Dr. Christopher Acker takes every opportunity to spend time with his patients, helping them better understand their kidney disease.
